Initially this was planned as a place to store those little hints, tips and techniques for web design and development that you pick up along the way so that we have a little library for us to use. Having looked at the whole idea, it can actually serve a lot more than that.
Whether your a fellow designer/developer, learning or wanting to learn web design, or just curious how a lot of this stuff works we are hoping to satisfy everyone! Covering topics such as XHTML basics, CSS, JQuery, PHP, Frameworks, Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash, WordPress and much more – as we pick up some ideas or new tips they will posted on here for all to share. We will also use this part of the blog to share links to tutorials and screen-casts that we find on our travels that may be of interest to others.
We already have a couple of posts planned as a result of looking into achieve certain effects on one of our client sites and one of a designer friend, which will be online very soon. The first is a CSS technique to achieve ‘equal height columns’ without the use of JavaScript or faux column images. After that we will be looking at starting a ‘Beginners Guide’ series, initially with the staple of XHTML before moving on to the more interesting and advanced stuff.
If anybody has any suggestions for topics they want covered, drop us a line and let us know – it’s always nice to have some ideas in the can!
